The plot centers on a cat named Garfield.
Garfield is a cat with quite an attitude. Playing or even being nice to the other kittens in the neighborhood is not even an option. Izzy says that taking him for a walk has become quite hard. If he spots a cat, he runs to him immediately. There is one thing on his mind – he wants to fight. That is why Izzy keeps him on a leash when leaving the house. But even with a leach on, it is still very common to see the cats run away when seeing him.
But one day, when Garfield was playing in the backyard, Izzy checked on him from the window just to see another kitten was sitting with him. Izzy, of course, panicked. She rushed out of the house to save the kitten. But what she saw was unbelievable. They were nice to each other. Izzy, in a state of surprise, left them alone, and went back to the kitchen, to observe them from the window.
Little did she know her cat knew how to be friends. She saw Garfield show the other kitten around, and let him play with his toys. The two were having such a good time together. Later, Garfield even asked Izzy to let the two of them play inside the house. For Izzy, it was a day of surprises.
Since that day, Buddy, Garfield’s new best friend, has been a regular visitor to Izzy’s house. He did not hesitate at all to come by and stand in front of the front doors whenever he missed Garfield. When Izzy opened the door, he would run right it. Soon, Buddy became a part of their family and did not miss even one day to stop by.
Izzy says she is so happy to see her cat finally have a friend. It is interesting how he behaves so differently with Buddy and with other cats. Hopefully, his friendship with Buddy will make Garfield a bit more compassionate and affectionate towards other cats as well.
