This teenage girl proved to be a wonderful mom to her beloved pet donkey
Karina Connors, a teenage girl never planned to adopt a donkey, but when she got a call from a friend informing her about a little foal that was in desperate need of help, she thought “Why not?” As Karina is a huge animal lover, her friend knew that she would not decline.
When the teenage girl’s classmate found him, the donkey was starving, he was so weak he could hardly stand up. Unable to care for the youngster himself, he contacted Karina, who happily agreed to take the baby home with her.
“He asked if I would like to try to keep him alive,” the girl recalled. “He was in such bad shape he probably would not have made it through the night. I could not just leave him there.”
That is how the donkey, later named Teddy, became a part of Karina’s beloved family. During the first few days at his new home, the teenage girl would stay beside him all the time. She would cuddle him while slowly introducing him to food, which he had so long been without. Soon, a touching bond began to form.
Even though Karina was very young at that time and inexperienced in animal care, she proved herself to be a perfect mom for Teddy. Thanks to her constant care and affection, Teddy slowly began to blossom.
“He transformed completely, turning into a social butterfly that just wants to be friends with everyone.” Karina loves taking him for walks and car rides with her. The donkey basically follows her everywhere she goes, and she could not be happier about it.
Teddy also helped Karina to discover her passion for animal care. Up to recently, she was not sure about what career path she wanted to pursue. But now that she has Teddy, she is certain she wants to keep helping animals.
