Archie the bear found a family after zoo bankruptcy

Dichka adopted Archie when he was just a cub after she learned

Archie was just a bear cub when the girl rescued him and brought him up as a pet

We are all used to thinking of a pet like a dog or at most a bird in a cage. Instead, there are remote realities far from the big cities where people keep less common animals as pets. Just think that this woman living in Siberia has managed to convince a zoo to give her a bear cub. He is now practically inseparable from her! Her name is Veronika Dichka, she lives in the town of Novosibirsk, in northern Siberia. She has become famous on the web thanks to her photos published on Instagram. There she tells with funny and at the same time evocative images of her extraordinary friendship with Archie. Archie is a bear that he adopted from a zoo that was going bankrupt.

Basically, this bear was just a cub when the local zoo in the North Siberian city that owned it filed for bankruptcy. The imminent closure of the place meant that Archie would have nowhere to stay. So this caring, animal-loving woman heard about his uncertain fate and asked if she could adopt the bear. Fortunately, the zoo accepted!

Veronika told about her relationship with Archie in an Instagram post: “Archie sees me as a member of his family. We share food, and he sleeps in my arms, and when he’s afraid, and hides behind me. We rescued him from the bankrupt zoo but we cannot release him into the wild because he has lived in captivity all his life. Archie spends every day with us and is madly in love with the water. He really likes it when I take him to new places. For example, this session where we went fishing together was a real pleasure for him! ”

Since they are not endangered animals, brown bears can be treated as domestic animals in Russia, at least as far as the Siberian region is concerned.  And judging by Veronika’s photos, Archie seems to have a lot of fun spending the day with his favorite human, don’t you think?

The friendship between a human being and a bear is not something you hear about every day, but certainly, the extraordinary and sweet testimony of Veronika’s rescue of this brown bear helps us understand that everything in life is possible: just live in Siberia and adopt a bear cub from a bankrupt zoo.
