The policeman showed compassionate attitude towards the defenseless dog
The work and activities of police do not only mean dealing with negative events and bad people. One of the main tasks of police officers is also to help those who are in a dangerous situation. It does not matter whether it is a human being or an animal. The sheriff of Chautauqua County, in the state of New York, published the photo of one of the officers. The policeman intent on caring for a dog that was a victim of car accident.
In fact, in order to keep the injured dog warm, before the arrival of the Rescue group, the policeman covered the poor injured dog with his jacket.
This accident had just happened when Sergeant Chris Howlett on board his police car arrived on the spot. The dog was was unable to move from the side of the road.
While waiting for the ambulance, the policeman, moved by the sight of that poor and scared dog. He did not think twice about taking off his jacket and placing it over the dog’s cold body, in order to keep the dog warm, given the cold winter temperatures.
Fortunately, that moment one of them captured with a photo, and then posted on the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s page. The image and Sergeant Howlett’s caring rescue were appreciated by Facebook page users.
After the publication of the post, further information was provided by the owners of the dog—her name is Rogue and, thanks also to the immediate care provided by the sergeant, she is now much better.
Since she did not sustain any serious injuries from the accident, Rogue will be returning home soon.
The compassionate gesture of this policeman most certainly kept a cold, injured, and frightened dog warm. But, his spontaneous kindness and concern also warm the heart of anyone who sees the photo!
